Muntinlupa Independent Film Festival to be on the Spotlight Soon

Muntinlupa City welcomes its very own film festival this year. A newly set up Muntinlupa Independent Film Festival (MIFF) is about to be on the spotlight soon.

Muntinlupa Independent Film Festival begins to be the hot topic of every aspiring film makers of Muntinlupa City. It was established by Professor Jeff Rante from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa who wants to “create a healthy competition in which students and professional filmmakers all over the land can exchange ideas in expressing themselves through film as well as to showcase their skills and talents in visual storytelling” in partnership with CinePilimun Productions, a student organization from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa established by Professor Jeff Rante as well.

This year, the film festival opened with the theme “Geschlecht 2019” which means “Gender” with the following objectives:

 

–         To raise awareness particularly with Gender Issues that we are facing today.

–         To showcase the Art of Visual Story telling of young artist across the Metro.

–         Exchanging of Culture, ideas, methods and techniques of the young artist        among others.

–         And to promote Gender Equality and Equity

The event started to open its gate for poster making contest last 9th of September and the submission of entries was last September 18th this year and is currently on going until November 15. The awarding is expected to be on November 29, 2019 at Museo ng Muntinlupa.

Muntinlupa Independent Film Festival encourages students and residents of Muntinlupa City to showcase their talents through arts and film. Professor Jeff Rante also envisions spreading the film festival across the Metro and who knows, even internationally to have a cultural exchange as the event goes on.

The film festival also expects to help the City’s tourism to boost as with their vision to bring the MIFF around and outside the country.
