Every year, I may say that this is one of Muntinlupa’s most awaited event as everyone gathers here to witness Muntinlupa’s salubong sa Pasko.
This year’s Christmas lighting was a success as Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the ceremony at the 8th of November, 5:30 in the afternoon. With the theme “Toy Fun Factory”, the Muntinlupa City Hall quadrangle became a more kid-friendly place in the City.
The ceremony ended with a fireworks display followed by a gift giving for residents of Muntinlupa.
According to Architect Don Causapin, this year’s theme symbolizes the happiness of kids as Christmas really is for kids.
A total of 400, 000 LED light bulbs has been lit up all over the Muntinlupa City Hall. Candy canes, lollipop, toy box and many more attractions are decorated everywhere which are made up of fiberglass for safety and restoration purposes.
Per Architect Don Causapin, this year’s Christmas Tree happened to be the tallest among the past years. From their standard 36 feet tree, it is now 45 feet to make it more attractive for the visitors. It became the highlight of the night for its unique lollipop-filled tree concept. At the entrance of the City Hall, a life sized Belen was decorated at the top of the entrance gate. Kids will surely love to visit inside the City Hall as the walls has filled with stuff toys and a mini playground located at the 2nd floor of the building.
One of this year’s attraction are the umbrellas with festive colors which gives a more millennial vibes for its Instagrammable sight.
Aside from the Muntinlupa City Hall quadrangle, there are also decorations along Susana Heights, Centennial Avenue and Sports Complex. The lamp posts are highlighted by lanterns with lollipops and candy canes across.
The Christmas lighting will be open for public daily at 6:00-10:00 PM.
